Death Note-Book 1 April 18, 2008

What would you do if you were walking down a local street in your neighborhood and just happened to come across what looks like a black student note book?
Well, if your a 17 year old named Light Yagami you pick it up, even though the cover on the book says Death Note, and this book was left by a Shinigami ( or I like to say DEMON ) named Ryuk, who just happened to drop the book here on Earth because he was bored.
And thus begins the opening salvo of Death Note published by Shonen Jump, a story that involves not just Light and the Shinigami Ryuk, but also a detective unknown to anyone just named L….but I should elaborate just a little about what happened after Mr Yagami takes said Death Note to his home….
Light finds out how to use the note book with Ryuk’s help of course…it seems that if you write someone’s name down in this note book, they will die, but only as long as the person who has written the person’s name in the book has the person’s face in their mind when writing in the book…if a cause of death is written within 40 seconds of writing the person’s name, their death will happens as written…if their death is not specified, they will die of a heart attack…after writing the cause of death, details of the death should be written within the next 6 minutes and 40 seconds.
The question is does the book really work or is it just a gimmick…well let me just say that not only does the book work, but light finds a unique way of using it…to better society…for the greater good of all…Light writes down the names of criminals, and he starts to experiment with what he can and can not do with the book, and this is what brings in the mysterious detective named L with his servant named Watari, who always seems to be dressed in a trench coat, carrying a laptop with which L is able to communicate with the local police force.
Well, I do not intend to give this whole thing away, but so far I have found the first book in this series interesting, with an excellent story written by Tsugumi Ohba, and fantastic artwork by Takeshi Obata
And for me it’s on to book #2

Death Note the Manga Series February 20, 2008
Posted by 54071 in : manga , 1 comment so farGood Morning!
One of the most popular Manga series from publisher Shonen Jump is a little series called Death Note, which is now being seen here in the US on DVD released by Viz Media.
I was accidentally exposed to this series a little more than a year ago due to a Death Note box set that I was selling at the time, which sold out very quickly.
I had decided to try and find the entire Manga series, and after several tries, have finally been able to get the whole set together so that I can offer it for sale to my customers, so I will be listing this set of Manga at L&K’S Anime Otaku Heaven.
This is the whole set of manga books, volumes 1-12, plus volume 13 ” How To read Death Note Encyclopedia “.
I wish that I had been able to get an extra set of these Manga so that I could read them myself, but at present I’m busy already reading Doll, and the book Manga by Paul Gravett.
See everyone later.
