Hey there everyone!
Your ole Uncle Fanboy here with you again for another ” Comic Book Wednesday ” for October 7th 2009.
Well, of course from the above title this is going to be a two parter that I will finish up on Friday but I want to explain exactly why this has turned into a two parter…
To be honest this two parter came about because it has become difficult for me to step into my favorite comic place, Main Street Comics, and just get every title that I want to.
And so this brings up the question…how do I decide what to pick, when I’ve got like eight or nine ( or sometimes more ) comics in hand?
And that’s where part two comes in!
Okay, now that I’ve explained about the second part, let’s get to the first part..the actual comic purchases!
Okay, well this week is a bit of diversity as far as comic titles are concerned…
Dynamite Comics
Thulsa Doom #2
by writers Luke Lieberman & Arvid Nelson & art by Lui Antonio
Robert E Howard’s Thulsa Doom is the major nemesis in both of Howard’s barbarian charecters, and subsequent comics based on Howard’s Kull and Conan.
Okay, this is one of those titles that I have not been able to read yet, but I’m almost there as I believe that issue #1 is just a comic or two from the top of my comics pile ( or maybe heap is a better term ) but I expect to have it read over this weekend.
Marvel Comics
Ultimate Avengers #1 by Millar Pacheco & Miki
Okay, so this title may have been out for about a month ( I think or maybe a bit longer ) but to be honest with everyone, I’ve kinda gotten tired of ” Any Marvel Universe ” Avengers Title…and I thought okay, let’s give this one a chance as it’s based in the Ultimates Universe…and it’s only a six parter!
I’ve already got the second issue on hold!
DC Comics
Green lantern ” Blackest Night “issue #46
by Geoff Johns, Doug Mahnke and Christian Alamy
Okay, the summer hot pick has carried over into the fall and this has been a favorite read for me…period!
And as I mentioned previously, I’m even following some of the tie in’s to this one..namely the Batman and Superman tie in’s
This issue has it all…Hal Jordan, Sinestro, and one hell of a villain…Mongul in an issue simply titled Uneasy Alliance.
Wildstorm Comics
North 40 issue#4
by Williams and Staples
” Skin-Crawling. If you like the horror comics…check this out ”
.….Blair Butler, G4tv
Okay, I admit it..I’m enjoying this comic better than any other of the ” Horror ” type comics I’ve been reading as of late, and that’s saying an awful lot considering some of those titles include House of Mystery and Locke and Key.
And issue # 4’s title…” Tremblin’ ‘neath the Feet of Giants ” and just in case you doubt me on this one…check this page out…

Ummm…Maggots!
Okay, and so I end part one here and just wait for part two on Friday!
