Le Chevalier D’ Eon; My Review Part Three

 Powered by Max Banner Ads

Hi there and welcome to part three of my review of Le Chevalier D’ Eon from Funimation and Project IG.

Let’s get right to it shall we…

Episode Three

Sword of Indignation

This episode picks up from where the Musketeers are surrounded by the women who are being controlled by the Comte de Saint-Germain’s henchman, Caron…who is seen with several ” Psalms ” in hand to control the gargoyle women…

Caron is finally revealed…and so is Lia De Beaumont…and there is confrontation between the two, as Lia/D’Eon slashes Caron’s finger tips from his hand.

Caron is captured for the moment, and the Musketeers have found out about the connection between the spirit of Lia and her brother D’Eon.

D’Eon has to come to terms with being the ” Vessel ” to Lia’s soul

Caron, proves to be an unwilling prisoner and in order for the musketeers to gain information from him…Durand takes measures into his own hands…through the use of his sword…slashing the tendons on Caron’s feet…a method that D’Eon finds distasteful at the very least.

In a closing moment…while D’Eon ponders ” What would Lia have done ” as to the treatment and questioning of Caron, Durand comes into the prisoner’s room, and cuts the ropes that binds Caron… ” what do you want ” he asks of Durand, ” you nobles are all alike…knives in your friends backs

Teillagory questions Durand and his methods in a short fight…they come to a draw..

Durand escapes to fight another day…but Teillagory commands Robin to follow Durand.

A maimed and bruised Caron is followed by D’Eon..” A knight must always aspire to be his best “..yes..is the response D’Eon gives to his Master, Teillagory, as they both track Caron as he tries to return to his master…

Robin confronts Durand on the docks of Paris…” And who is your master Duran? The Duc of Orleans or just your greedy self? Which is it?

I work for France…Boy…it’s just my position is a little different from yours I’m afraid…

Duran leaves Robin on the docks, but not without having Robin give a message to D’Eon…” take what you need and meet me at the casket..yes..

and Durand is gone.

Caron returns to his master…at the Duc D’ Orleon’s home where the Duc and the Comte de Saint-Germain have an unexpected guest..Vorontsov!

The Comte de Saint-Germain somehow notices that they are being watched from outside…and he says a psalm and ignites the room they are all in…a room with many books in it..De’Eon finds a particular tome..he and Teillagory escape the fire with the book.

Robin returns to the room where the Musketeers have been staying in secret, telling the duo that this book has documents that include information about Paris and Russian Fur Accounts, having this type of information allows Vorontsov access to Paris’s upper crust and is his cover to continue his operations in Paris.

Why would the Duc harbor a spy ” Robin asks…” that will become clearer in due course ” is his answer from Teillagory.…and now some of the storyline in episode four.

Episode Four

Follower of the Revolution

This episode opens with the beating of Caron, to clear the suspicions of the Duc of Orleons…which unfortunately for Caron  has not happened!

The Comte de Saint-Germain writes a psalm of vengeance on the back of Caron…

Meanwhile down in the catacombs, where Lia’s coffin still lies, D’Eon, Teillagory, Durand and Robin are approached by the King and his aide Broglie.

Broglie, asks D’Eon about how he had come upon the hidden documents that were found in his home.

In the end D’Eon is asked to take up the task that his sister Lia had also taken in service to the King.

D’Eon asks Durand what exactly Lia’s mission in Russia had been…he finds out that Lia was responsible for preventing the death of the Empress Elizabeth.

And in the Court at Versailles, the Madame Pompadour, explains a songs lyrics and is surreptitiously put in her place by the Queen herself.

In a meeting in the Queens quarters, D’Eon tells the Queen that he cannot accept that this is indeed his sister’s spirit trying at certain times to exact her vengeance using his body as her ” Vessel “, but the Queen tells D’Eon and the rest of those in the room with him that there are ” Certain Truths ” which will become apparent if he does…

The musketeers gather later on and find Vorontsov is doing brisk business selling furs and making small talk with the women of the court, and Robin asks if they can get Vorontsov somehow…they must wait until he is alone, not with a large crowd of people.

They form a plan…

Meanwhile Anna is in the young prince’s room, and very reflective about her fiance, D’Eon…and Auguste offers to help her with her problem by talking with D’Eon himself!

This brings a smile and a small chuckle to Anna’s face and she thanks the prince for bringing a smile to her.

In one of the taverns in town, a plot is being hatched in order to get more information about Vorontsov, as Durand and Teillagory work from inside the tavern, and Robin and D’Eon watch the two from outside in the shadows…Robin speaks with D’Eon about Lia and why she is doing what she is doing in her pursuit of vengeance…” I always Knew it was her soul

you sound so happy about it…her soul is so violent and full of vengeance…and then there is this great sadness within her..despair…it’s an almost Righteous Indignation

D’Eon explains that if this is his sister’s soul…he does not want to give her any reason to draw her sword..using his body in doing so.

And then Vorontsov finally comes out of the tavern, but he is not alone, as he is accompainined by three woman in tow…for his protection.

The musketters make their move…and so does another from the rooftops…Caron is on the move again…

Caron comes upon D’Eon in one of the alleys and draws his sword, while starting to say a prayer to the lord god…

D’Eon also draws his sword, and as Caron’s prayer continues, the mysterious letters that always appear in blood on D’Eon’s sword whenever Lia is to appear..are appearing on D’Eon’s sword now…as D’Eon tries to prevent this from happening..

Meanwhile, Teillagory and Durand come across the carriage that Vorontsov and the women from the tavern had entered…only to find Vorontsov gone and the woman killed, and they have special charms around their necks…and they awaken and are gargoyles themselves now!

Meanwhile..the battle between Caron and D’Eon comes to it’s ultimate conclusion..

And that ends part three of my review with part four coming sometime next week!
