Good Evening and welcome to another ” Comic Book Wednesday ” here on Fanboy@50!
This week was actually a large week as far as releases were concerned and I actually had to put a few titles back on the shelf because of the expense involved.
Okay, this week I’ll not only feature what I brought home, but what I wound up putting back…
Okay, I’ll start with the single issues first…
Wildstorm
Fringe issue#6 of 6– The final issue of this limited run series.
Not sure just how popular this series has been, but I would be surprised if this were to become a regular ongoing series.
Vertigo
Madame Xanadu issue#12. Continuing the new 5 part story arc ” Exodus Noir “, brought to us by writer Matt Wagner, and artist Michael Wm. Kaluta.
The last time I remember seeing Kaluta’s art was during his stint on ” The Shadow “.
This is one of those titles that just seems to get better as it continues, which at least for me seems to be very rare in the comics arena now a days.
Okay, now for the other stuff…
Marvel
Thor issue#602…hmmmm..lets see…Thor, Donald Blake, Stephen Strange ( Doctor Strange to the rest of you! ) Heimdal, Approaching Death, and one more Asgardian rescued from the void…I’ll let you take a guess as to which one she may be…
Avengers/Invaders issue #12 of 12..okay, the conclusion of what could have been a major event in the Marvel Universe, but at least for me it just wasn’t. I should also point out that I have not given credit where it is due, as this entire series was a Marvel/Dynamite comics cross company project…and I’m not quite sure why, as all of these characters are ( as far as I know ) are owned by Marvel…but go figure right.
DC
Green Lantern issue#42. The buildup to ” Blackest Night ” continues with this issue as the tale of ” Agent Orange ” continues, and just in case your wondering, in the next issue…” Tale of the Black Lantern ”
Detective Comics issue#854. Begins a new era here with ” Batwoman ” becoming the new Bat to roost here in this title, with a backup story of the new Question.
Now, just what did I put back…
The new issue of Superman from DC of course, and what looks to be a sleeper series that will have several crossovers also…Utopia, a new Marvel release.
Utopia was released with a few different alternate covers, and I know that there will be more than enough issues to be able to pick this up next week along with what is going to a hell of an event…Captain America Reborn…as I always say..in Comics…dead isn’t always dead!
