I thought it might be time to do a personal update about myself, especially in regard to my medical conditions, and where I am health wise at this point in time since returning home from the hospital in June so….
Okay, first since returning home in June, I have had several ( almost to a point where I would never want to see a doctor again! ) follow up doctor appointments due to my medical diagnosis of Churg Strausse Syndrome.
Another problem that has arisen is Neuropathy in both of my feet. I have feeling in both of them, but there have been moments where this condition has moved up either or both legs. I have also had problems with craps in my legs, specifically my calves and or sometimes a whole leg. This problem usually occurs at night during my sleep. I have also been experiencing as of late ( 2 times now ), pain across my chest, that almost feels like a heart attack. And I have also noticed that where before all this happened, I was able to eat three regular meals a day ( plus a few snacks of course ) my digestive system has changed and I now have difficulty sometimes digesting those types of meals and I will have to have several smaller meals a day in order to compensate for this problem.
I attribute most of the above to Churg Strausse…
I was also just diagnosed ( a little bit more than a week ago ) as being pre-diabetic, and after insisting on getting an earlier appointment with my new endocrinologist, I got testing equipment to keep on eye on my blood sugar levels.
I will admit that after hearing this diagnosis, I had to leave work early, it was just too much for me to deal with plus trying to do my job at the same time. I was very angry and I just felt that it wasn’t fair to have to deal with this along with Churg Strausse.
I cried and wondered what I had done to deserve all of this…why was this happening to me?
Hadn’t I already gone thru enough….seven years with both of my parents and their health issues, losing my mother ( oh my god, I just realized that it’s been a year that has passed and I haven’t been able to visit the cemetery to see her! ) in what can only be termed a terrible mistake.
I wanted my parents with me more than ever, and of course that wasn’t going to happen.
I have seen a Neurologist to deal with the Neuropathy in my feet. Blood work was taken and I have a nerve test scheduled for the middle of September to try and determine the nature of the Neuropathy.
I have been told by the Neurologist and by my Endocrinologist, that there are several different types of Neurpoathy, and that sometimes the differnt types can be very hard to distinguish from one another.
Of course upon hearing this, I was less than thrilled.
In a bit more than a week, I leave for my vacation to Maui with my wife, a vacation that at this point in time is sorely needed…time to try to relax and enjoy time alone with my lovely wife Susan.
When I return, I will be working on two other blogs as soon as possible, as I announced in an earlier post which was here.
While the blog about comics is going to be more of an extension of Fanboy, the other blog that I will be devoting to Churg Strauss will definitely be a labor of love and will be close to my heart as far as importance at this point in my life.
Okay, I think that’s enough of an update for now.
I want to again thank all of you who come by for a visit and to the folks who have subscribed to the blog so far, and I hope that everyone sticks around for what I have in store for the future…I intend to stay positive, busy, and to give everyone who continue to read Fanboy@50, some great posts to continue reading in the future.
So thanks for hanging with an ” Older and Wiser ” fanboy@50
( actually 51 now! )
