Batman ” The Resurrection of Ra’s Al Ghul ” My Review

Okay, I just finished reading the last issue of this story, and I have to say that for me, it wasn’t worth all of the effort that I went thru to collect all seven issues!

With different writers and artists trying to tie this story up into a co-hesive storyline, I feel that they failed in their efforts, from the first Batman Pre-lude to the story, to the final last issue in Detective Comics #839.

Short and sweet, Ra’s Al Ghul somehow manages again to resurrect himself, returning in a body less than suitable for his needs, and the whole plot here revolves around Ra’s trying to use the body of Batman & Talia’s son Damian, as a suitable replacement for his essence to be transferred into.

From the battles in Wayne Manor, to the battles in Nanda Parbat, it all seems hurried, repeated, and contrived, and in the end quite boring as a read, especially for this character.

In the end, Ra’s places his essence into the body of the ” White Ghost ” who just happens to be another one of his children, winds up battling the whole Batman family in Nanda Parbat, along with his deadly ninjas and such, and winds up in a very lackluster battle, with the Rama Kushna speaking thru the possessed monks of Nanda Parbat…sorry, but this story just does not do it for me…and basically it didn’t work for me because of who and what Ra’s is supposed to be as far as his realeationship and history in the bat universe…this story was just not worthy of the history that this character has between himself and the worlds greatest detective.

Sorry DC, but this story just was not a very well done one.
