Anime Figures-Too Sexy for American Culture?

Hi everyone!

I have a question for all of you… are the above figures sexy?

Are they a little sexy?

Very sexy?

Too sexy?

Or not sexy at all?

Well my friends that is my question …and I think that your answer really depends on whether or not you are from the US or your from Japan…

Let’s delve into this a bit more shall we…

First, I have to say that some of the figures I have come across in the time that I have been selling Anime figures have been in a word…maybe…Provocative…a pretty safe term I think.

While some figures have been down right sexy and erotic, maybe even Pornographic…especially the figure below…

or is this figure just a beautiful, artistic representation of the human body?

What’s that saying about beauty being in the eye of the beholder?

In japan, this is just another figure that is mass produced for market consumption, and quite frankly, while I’m sure that the above figure would also be considered sexy there, I’m not sure if it is considered taboo there…so what exactly am I saying here…

I’m saying that Japan and American Culture is the Real Continental Divide.

Or to state this another way, the culture that is a part of where you happen to live will really determine your answer to the question concerning what is just sexy or what is taboo.

In my next few posts about this subject, I will look further into the differences in cultures in terms of Anime figures and Anime in general, but here is another figure to pique your interest and lend more fuel to the already burning fire…

Queens Blade - Ekidona
