Do Awards Mean Anything?

Johanna Draper Carlson’s ” Comics Worth Reading ” had a post that asked the question Do Awards Mean Anything?

I Think that this is a valid question, as to the idea that awards might make a difference in your overall decisions as to comics buying.

I saw this post the other day, and did not have the time to leave a comment, but for my self, awards are not an influence on my comics buying habits.

Johanna always seems to have interesting content on her site, so go over there and take a peek.

Referer…

Any reviewer who expresses rage and loathing for a novel is preposterous. He or she is like a person who has put on full armor and attacked a hot fudge sundae…

Hi Joesph.
Not sure if this comment you left was meant for this post but.…

In general, reviewers are critics, who’s job is to review a comic, or a graphic novel, and to give their opinion as to what they liked or disliked about said comic or graphic novel or even a written novel.

This is how these folks earn a living. And by the way, if I’m attacking a Hot Fudge Sunday, it better have lots of whip cream and a cherry on the top okay!

Oh, and if it wasn’t meant to be here, please re-post to the correct post and I will again answer.
