Johanna Draper Carlson’s ” Comics Worth Reading ” had a post that asked the question Do Awards Mean Anything?
I Think that this is a valid question, as to the idea that awards might make a difference in your overall decisions as to comics buying.
I saw this post the other day, and did not have the time to leave a comment, but for my self, awards are not an influence on my comics buying habits.

Any reviewer who expresses rage and loathing for a novel is preposterous. He or she is like a person who has put on full armor and attacked a hot fudge sundae…

In general, reviewers are critics, who’s job is to review a comic, or a graphic novel, and to give their opinion as to what they liked or disliked about said comic or graphic novel or even a written novel.
This is how these folks earn a living. And by the way, if I’m attacking a Hot Fudge Sunday, it better have lots of whip cream and a cherry on the top okay!
