I heard a bit of info about a possible lawsuit being brought against Wizkids games by Wizards of the Coast.
Supposedly the suit being brought by Wizards has to do with ” Patent Infringement ” and is focused on the ” Constructible ” games that Wizkids games produces.
Apparently, several years ago, Wizards had submitted a Patent for a constructible game, and when Wizkids brought out the first ” Pirates “constructible game, Wizards had informed Wizkids, that they ( Wizards ) had submitted a patent on this type of game and that it might be in their ( Wizkids ) best interest not to bring the Pirates game to market, to avoid future problems.
Well, several years later ( and several different constructible games ) put out by Wizkids, Wizards comes out with Transformers 3D, and Wizards patent is approved.
Wizkids files a suit against Wizards to have them vacate the patent.
I will be following this up with another post after I have the rest of the facts…but this looks like it could become a bitter fight in the courts with alot at stake for both sides so stay tuned for my next update!
