I have been a Batman fan forever.
Period!
And I am not ashamed to admit that!
I have been reading the adventures of Bruce Wayne and his counterpart for many a year, and I have enjoyed many of his exploits, but today I read issue 663, written by Grant Morrison and painted visuals by John Van Fleet .
The story is about the Joker, while again incarcerated in Arkham, is having the killing of his older thugs and cronies, being done for him by Harley Quinn.
This particular story is broken down into ten separate vignettes, and while I usually can read a comic in less than 30 minutes ( well, between looking at the art and reading the storyline ) this particular comic took me an hour to finish, and I will probably re-read this one just to the pure enjoyment.
My feeling is that this is a tale that actually could have been fleshed out a bit more and actually made into a graphic novel.
I was pleasantly surprised when two of the henchmen that were on the Joker’s hit list, were actually from another Batman tale, ” The Killing Joke “, which shows me that DC doesn’t just throw out it’s continuity.Â
All in all, this was an enjoyable tale of the Batman and his arch nemesis and might I add foil, the maniacal Joker.
